PUBLIC LEGAL ENTITY “AGENCY FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF ECONOMIC ZONES” HAS BEEN ESTABLISHED IN AZERBAIJAN
According to the Decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated January 22, 2021 (hereinafter the "Decree") on the continuation of economic reforms in the Republic of Azerbaijan, further improvement of management and control mechanisms in the field of existing industrial parks, industrial quarters and agricultural parks in the country, as well as increasing the efficiency of events, ensuring closer coordination and consistency, on the basis of “Sumgayit Chemical Industrial Park” LLC under the Ministry of Economy, “the Agency for the Development of Economic Zones” (hereinafter referred to as the Agency) with the status of a public legal entity has been established.
The Agency has developed and implemented measures for the organization, management and development of industrial parks (with the exception of the Balakhani Industrial Park), industrial regions (except for the industrial regions created in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic) and agricultural parks, as well as measures of state support in this direction.
The general management and control over the activities of the Agency will be carried out by the Supervisory Board consisting of 7 (seven) people, and the current management - by the Management Board consisting of 5 (five) people.
