THE FIRST LAW OF AZERBAIJAN REPUBLIC ON MEDIATION
The new page in the dispute resolution history of Azerbaijan is now opened – finally, the law “On Mediation” is passed and in this way the mediation, as a form of alternative dispute resolution is now available to legal and individuals.
The law consists of 39 Articles and regulates public relations in the field of mediation - one of the alternative ways of dispute resolution, defines mediation goals, principles, rules of conduct and status of mediators, in accordance with paragraphs 10 and 12 of part I of Article 94 of the Constitution of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
It also creates new prospects to the young lawyers, who wished to perform in the field of alternative dispute resolution, in the same time opening new work possibilities to the individuals. Another advantage arising by adopting this law is that now the workload of the courts in fact shall decrease, what will increase the quality of decisions issued by judges.
