A NEW WIND FARM WILL BE BUILT IN AZERBAIJAN
According to the Decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan No. 1673 dated December 5, 2019 (hereinafter “Order”), a pilot project for the construction of a wind power plant with an installed capacity of 240 MW will be implemented. In connection with the construction of the power plant, it is planned to take the necessary measures related to the signing of the „Investment Agreement”, “Energy Purchase and Sale Agreement”, “Agreement on the Connection to the Transmission Network”, “Land Lease Agreement”, the “Direct Agreement” and the “Independent Engineers Agreement ”.
After the completion of wind measurements in the areas where the proposed wind power plant will be built, the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Azerbaijan must ensure that appropriate measures are taken to change the land category.
According to the Order, state lands in these territories will be transferred for permanent use to the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Azerbaijan (hereinafter referred to as the "Ministry"), and the Ministry will have the right to lease these lands. In addition, improvement of the necessary external and internal infrastructure in the pilot project zones, connection of the wind farm to the transmission network at the appointed time and with the parameters in accordance with the " Energy Purchase and Sale Agreement" and "Agreement on the Connection to the Transmission Network" provided for in the Order, while In the meantime, appropriate measures are expected to be taken to resolve other administrative and technical issues necessary to ensure the timely implementation of the project.
