GOVERNANCE IN THE FIELD OF DIGITAL TRANSFORMATION IS BEING FURTHER IMPROVED IN AZERBAIJAN.
Digital transformation of the economy and society has become one of the priority issues facing the Republic of Azerbaijan in recent years. Evidence of this is the development of broadband Internet, which is the basis of ICT infrastructure, and digital initiatives such as "Government Cloud", "Big Data", "Smart City" and "Smart Village" are being implemented.
Improving governance in public policy in the field of digital transformation requires the effective implementation of functions of state and public importance, along with commercial activities.
In order to improve governance in this area, the President signed a decree dated April 27, 2021.
Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies have to organize “Aztelekom” LLC, “Baku Telephone Communications” LLC, “Azerbaijan International Telecom” (AzInTelecom) LLC and “Azerpocht” LLC in accordance with the country's digital transformation policy, have to prepare and submit to the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan proposals on ensuring sustainable and secure use of the information and telecommunications network within four months, as well as the application of advanced corporate governance principles and the development of public-private partnerships.
