A NUMBER OF INNOVATIONS ARE EXPECTED IN THE FIELD OF EMPLOYMENT LAW AND THE SOCIAL PROTECTION

It was stated during the “Online B2G Forum” organized by the “Caspian Energy Club” that a number of innovations based on the international experience are expected to be introduced to the field of employment law.

At present, 53 services provided by the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of Population of the Republic of Azerbaijan (“Ministry”) are provided electronically and 26 proactively via the e-social portal. In the near future, 57 more e-services are expected to be launched, and 7 of them will be activated by the end of this year. Thus, 76% of the 132 services provided by the Ministry will be digitized.

Another expected innovation is the development of the sub-system "Labor Relations and Employment", the Employment Map, the Register of the Employed persons. This system will be considered a single labor platform.

Taking into account the impact of the Coronavirus pandemic on employment relations and the performance of ones job duties, there raised a need in society for the legal regulation of the new forms and regimes of work. Therefore, one of the most important changes will be the introduction of new definitions in the Labor Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan, such as "employee with family responsibilities", "remote work", "telework" and others.
